Why Disney Springs Deserves a Spot on Your Itinerary

If you've never carved out real time for Disney Springs, let me be the one to tell you — you're missing out. This is hands-down one of my favorite spots to recommend for a rest day or an arrival/departure day, and today I want to walk you through why.

The Perfect Low-Key Disney Day

Not every day of your trip needs to be a park day. Disney Springs gives you all the magic — the shopping, the food, the atmosphere — without the early wake-up calls, the Lightning Lane strategy, or the Florida sun beating down on you in a ride queue. It's an easy way to get a taste of Disney without actually going to the parks, which makes it perfect for the day you land, the day you fly home, or just a breather day in the middle of a longer trip.

The Shopping (Hello, World of Disney) ‍

I will fully admit it — I have never once left the World of Disney store with an empty bag. It is the largest Disney merchandise store on property, and it is dangerous for anyone who loves this place as much as I do. But it's not just World of Disney — Disney Springs is packed with boutiques, specialty shops, and one-of-a-kind finds you won't see anywhere else on property.‍ ‍

And here's a tip a lot of guests don't know about: there's a shipping service right there at Disney Springs, so you can send your treasures straight home instead of trying to cram them into your suitcase or lug them through the airport. Shop freely, my friends.

The Food Scene Is Unmatched

Disney Springs might have the best concentration of restaurants anywhere at Walt Disney World. My personal favorite is Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' — the fried chicken alone is worth the trip, and don't even get me started on the deviled eggs. But that's just one option among dozens spanning every cuisine and budget you could want, from quick bites to full sit-down experiences worth planning a whole evening around.

Nighttime Entertainment That Feels Like a Bonus Show‍ ‍

As the sun goes down, Disney Springs turns into its own kind of show. Live music, street performers, and gorgeous lighting make it a genuinely magical place to wander after dinner — no fireworks show required (though the ambiance honestly rivals one).

And Don't Even Get Me Started on the Holidays

If you're visiting during the Christmas season, Disney Springs turns into an entirely different kind of magical. Twinkling lights, festive decor around every corner, and that little touch of snow in the air that makes it feel like an entirely different world. It's one of my favorite times of year to send guests there.
