Travel Tip Tuesday: Why You Shouldn't Wait to Book Your Christmas Theme Park Trip ππ
Christmas at the parks is magical⦠and also one of the worst times to wait until the last minute to plan.
Between the special events, the festive entertainment, and just how many families have "see the parks at Christmas" on their bucket list, the holiday season brings some of the highest demand of the entire year. By the time a lot of families actually sit down to start looking, the best rooms, the ideal dates, and the top extras β dining packages, event tickets, the good park hours β are already getting tight. (Case in point: EPCOT's Candlelight dining packages open October 14, and those seats go fast every single year.)
So if a holiday park trip is even on your radar, here are the smart moves to make now instead of in November:
Choose your dates early.
The earlier you commit to a window, the more room availability and better pricing you actually have to choose from. And surprise - most promos for the holiday season drop in June!
Decide which park or event matters most.
Is this a Disney trip built around Candlelight Processional and the Festival of the Holidays? Universal's holiday events? Naming the "must-have" first makes every other decision easier.
Book before availability gets tight.
Rooms at the most-requested resorts and reservations for the most popular holiday dining experiences don't wait for you to be ready β they just go.
Give yourself time to make payments instead of rushing the whole thing at once.
A trip you pay off gradually over a few months feels completely different than one you're scrambling to fund all at once in October. This is genuinely one of my favorite parts of planning early β it takes the financial stress off the table entirely.
Here's what I've noticed after planning enough of these:
Planning early doesn't just give you better options, it usually makes the whole trip feel more enjoyable from the very start. No scrambling, no "I hope this is still available," just excitement.
If a Christmas theme park vacation is on your list this year, now is a great time to start the conversation. Head to thatkatiefath.com/travel and let's get your dates and your must-haves locked in before they aren't an option anymore.
Someday isn't a plan. Today is. π€
