Why We Keep Going Back to Disney (Even Though We've "Already Been") 🏰🤍

I get asked this all the time: "You've already been to Disney so many times. Why not go somewhere new?"

And I get it. There's a whole big world out there, and we love exploring it too. But when it comes to our family vacations, we keep coming back to Disney. Here's why.

It's Different Every Single Trip

The parks are the same parks, but our trip is never the same trip.

Sometimes it's the parks that change. New rides, new shows, new food, a new resort. (Hi, Lakeshore Lodge opening next summer and a whole Monsters, Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios. I see you. 👀)

But mostly? It's Lennon who changes.

The ride she was scared of last time is the one she begs to ride twice this time. The princess she was shy around is the one she runs up to and hugs. She's tall enough for something new. She notices details she walked right past before. Every trip, I get to see Disney through a slightly older, braver, funnier version of my girl.

The Happiness Inside the Bubble

There's something people call "the Disney bubble," and if you've been, you know exactly what I mean.

The second we get there, the real world gets a little quieter. No work emails (okay, fewer 😅). No laundry. No rushing from school to dance to dinner. Just the three of us, together, with nowhere to be but right there.

As a full-time working mom, that kind of time is rare. Disney gives it back to us. We laugh more. We're more patient. We're present. And honestly, that feeling is the thing I'm really booking every time.

"But..." Let's Talk About the Hesitations

I hear the same few worries from families who are on the fence about going (or going back). Here's my honest answer to each one.

"Disney is so expensive." It can be! But it doesn't have to all hit at once. Booking early lets you pay your trip off over time, and I watch for new discounts after you book so we can try to apply them. A trip you pay for little by little feels so much different than one you're scrambling to cover all at once.

"It's too crowded and exhausting." This is where planning makes all the difference. Picking the right dates, building in a rest day, using rope drop and Lightning Lane wisely, and taking midday breaks turn a marathon into a vacation.

"We've already done it." You've done that trip. You haven't done this one. A different resort, a different park order, a character meal you've never tried, a Disney cruise instead of the parks... there's always a new way to experience it.

"My kids won't remember it." Maybe they won't remember every ride. But they'll remember how it felt. And you'll remember all of it: the face she made when she saw the castle, the way she held your hand during the fireworks. Those memories are for you, too.

"Planning it is too overwhelming." That's exactly why I'm here. 😉 You get to dream about the trip. I handle the dining windows, the Lightning Lane plan, and every deadline in between.

They Are Only Little Once

This is the part that gets me every time.

Lennon won't always want to wear the princess dress. She won't always reach for my hand in a crowd or squeal when Pluto waves at her. One day she'll be too cool for the character meal. (Please, not yet. 🥺)

I know these years go fast. So we're choosing to spend some of them in the place that makes our family the happiest. My dad loved Disney with his whole heart, and every time we walk down Main Street, I feel like I'm passing a little piece of that love on to her.
