Why Use a Travel Agent? Let's Start With the Big Question 🤍
Starting this week, Thursdays on the blog are going to look a little different. Every week, I'm going to pull back the curtain on one reason to use a travel agent. What we actually do, what it costs (spoiler: often nothing extra), and how it makes your trip easier.
Because I get it. A few years ago, I would have asked the same thing: "Why would I pay someone to book something I can book myself?"
So let's start right there.
"Doesn't a travel agent cost more?"
This is the number one question I get, and the answer surprises most people.
For Disney vacations, booking with me doesn't cost you more than booking directly with Disney. Same price, same packages, same discounts. Disney pays travel agencies a commission on the back end, so you get a real person in your corner without paying extra for it.
So the real question isn't "can I afford a travel agent?" It's "why would I plan this alone when I don't have to?"
What I actually do for you
Here's a peek at what happens behind the scenes when you book with me:
🏰 I help you choose the right resort. Not just the cheapest or the prettiest, the one that fits your family. Transportation, room size, pool, budget, nap breaks, all of it.
🍽️ I'm up early for your dining reservations. When your 60-day window opens, I'm on it, so you're not fighting for Cinderella's Royal Table at 6 AM with a coffee and a prayer.
⚡ I help build your Lightning Lane plan. Which days need it, which ones don't, and what to book first.
💸 I watch for discounts after you book. When Disney releases a new offer and your dates qualify, I'll try to apply it to your existing reservation. A lot of families never know they could have saved.
📅 I keep track of your payment dates and deadlines. No surprise final payment emails, no missed windows.
📲 I'm your person before, during and after. Questions at 9 PM? Plans change? Something goes sideways mid-trip? You text me, not a call center.
Why I do this
This one's personal. My dad loved Disney and he instilled that love in me by taking me there my entire childhood. I don't want families to spend their trip stressed, confused, or wishing they'd planned differently. I want you to walk down Main Street and just feel it.
That's the part I get to protect for you.
Coming up on Thursdays
