The Best Resort Pools at Walt Disney World — Ranked by a Disney Travel Advisor

Can I tell you something that might surprise you about Walt Disney World?

For a lot of families — and I mean a LOT — the resort pool ends up being one of the most talked-about highlights of the entire trip. More than the rides sometimes. More than the character meets. The pool.

And honestly? I get it completely. After a long magical morning in the parks, there is nothing better than heading back to your resort, changing into your swimsuit, and letting the kids splash around while you sit in the Florida sunshine with a cold drink in your hand. That is vacation. That is the good stuff.

But here is the thing — not all Disney resort pools are created equal. Some are absolutely spectacular and worth factoring into your resort decision. Others are perfectly fine but nothing to write home about. Knowing the difference before you book matters, especially if your family is pool-obsessed.

So let's talk about the best pools at Walt Disney World, broken down by resort level so you can find the right fit for your family and your budget.

The Absolute Best Pool at Walt Disney World: Stormalong Bay

Disney's Beach Club Resort & Yacht Club Resort

If you ask any Disney resort expert — travel advisors, Disney bloggers, repeat guests — which pool wins at Walt Disney World, the answer is almost always the same: Stormalong Bay.

Shared between Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Stormalong Bay is a three-acre mini water park that is genuinely in a category of its own. The centerpiece is a 230-foot shipwrecked waterslide — the longest at any Disney resort — that winds over the walkway and drops you right at the edge of the pool. There is a zero-entry sand-bottom pool that feels like wading into the ocean, a lazy river, a water volleyball pool, three whirlpool spas, and plenty of lounge chairs for the adults who just want to sit and breathe for a moment.

The sand bottom alone sets this pool apart. There is nothing quite like it anywhere else on Disney property and kids absolutely lose their minds for it.

The catch: Stormalong Bay is only accessible to guests staying at Beach Club or Yacht Club. It is a Deluxe resort, so the price point reflects that. But if pool time is a priority for your family, this one is worth every penny.

Bonus: Beach Club and Yacht Club are within walking distance of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, making this resort an incredible value beyond just the pool.

Best Deluxe Pool: The Polynesian Village Resort

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

The Polynesian Village Resort is one of the most beloved resorts at Walt Disney World and the pool area absolutely lives up to the reputation. The Lava Pool features a waterslide built into a volcanic rock formation, a zero-entry section for little ones, and a hot tub — all surrounded by lush tropical landscaping that makes you feel like you have been transported somewhere far away from Florida.

The theming here is next level. Palm trees, tiki torches in the evenings, and the general vibe of a Hawaiian resort make pool time at the Polynesian feel like a genuine escape. You can also watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach right next to the pool area, which is one of the most magical free experiences at all of Walt Disney World.

If your family loves the tropical aesthetic and you are staying Deluxe, the Polynesian pool experience is hard to beat.

Best Moderate Pool: Dig Site at Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

For families staying at a Moderate resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort has one of the best pools on property. The Fuentes del Morro Pool — also known as the Dig Site — is built around a Spanish fort theme with a waterslide, spray ground, and zero-entry section that is perfect for younger kids.

The theming is colorful and fun, the pool area is spacious, and the overall Caribbean Beach vibe makes it feel like more of a resort experience than a typical hotel pool. Caribbean Beach is also a boarding point for the Disney Skyliner gondola system, which adds a really fun transportation element to the stay.

For families who want a step up from Value without the Deluxe price tag, Caribbean Beach delivers one of the best pool experiences in the Moderate category.

Best Value Pool: Art of Animation Resort

Disney's Art of Animation Resort

If you are staying at a Value resort, Disney's Art of Animation has the best pool situation by a significant margin. The Big Blue Pool — themed around Finding Nemo — is the largest pool at any Walt Disney World Value resort and one of the most visually stunning pools on property. The underwater theming is gorgeous, the pool is huge, and the surrounding area is filled with beloved characters from the film.

Art of Animation also has two additional pools themed to Cars and The Little Mermaid, so even if the main pool is busy there are options. For a Value resort, the pool experience here genuinely punches above its weight class and is a major reason why Art of Animation books up faster than almost any other Value resort.

Honorable Mentions Worth Knowing About

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge — Uzima Springs Pool A zero-entry pool with a waterslide and a kiddie pool, all set against the backdrop of the resort's stunning African savanna. Watching giraffes roam in the distance while your kids splash around is a uniquely Disney experience you cannot get anywhere else.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge — Boulder Ridge Cove Pool A gorgeous, heavily themed pool built to feel like a natural hot spring, surrounded by rock formations and Pacific Northwest theming. Smaller and quieter than some of the other Deluxe pools — perfect for families who want a more relaxed pool experience.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort — Gran Destino Tower Pool A beautiful pool area with a waterslide and a swim-up bar for the adults, surrounded by Spanish colonial theming. One of the nicer Moderate pool experiences on property and a great option for families who appreciate a more sophisticated resort atmosphere.

How to Use This When Choosing Your Resort

Here is my honest advice. If the pool is a top priority for your family — if your kids are going to ask to go back to the pool every single day — let that factor into your resort decision in a real way.

Stormalong Bay at Beach Club and Yacht Club is truly in its own league and worth the Deluxe price if pool time matters to you. Art of Animation is the clear winner at the Value level. And in the Moderate category, Caribbean Beach delivers a genuinely fun pool experience that families love.

Every family's priorities are different, and finding the resort that checks the right boxes for YOUR family — whether that is pool size, theming, location, budget, or all of the above — is one of my favorite parts of helping clients plan their Disney trips.
