May the 4th Be With You 🖤

Happy Star Wars Day, friends.

I'll be honest with you — I'm not the person who can quote every line or debate the best episode. I'm not a die-hard, encyclopedic Star Wars fan. But Star Wars? Star Wars has a place in my heart that I don't think will ever go away. And it has nothing to do with lightsabers and everything to do with my dad.

Growing up, Star Wars was just one of those things we watched together. It was couch time. It was dad time. It was the kind of movie that felt bigger than a movie — the kind where you remember exactly where you were sitting and who was next to you. My dad had a way of making everything feel like an event, and Star Wars was always an event.

I think about him every single time I hear that opening theme.

As I got older and Disney became such a big part of my life — both personally and professionally — I found my own love for Star Wars in a completely unexpected place. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios is genuinely one of my favorite spots in all of Walt Disney World. I know that might surprise some people. But something about walking into that land, hearing the sounds shift, feeling like you've stepped into a completely different world entirely — it gets me every time.

It's the same feeling I had as a kid watching it on the couch with my dad. That sense of wonder. That feeling that something bigger than ordinary life is happening right in front of you.

That's what Star Wars does. That's what it's always done.

So whether you're a lifelong fan who can argue the Machete Order, or you're someone like me who just loves the feeling of it — happy May the 4th. I hope today brings you a little bit of that wonder.

May the Force be with you. Always. 🌟

xoxo,
Katie
