Disney's Lakeshore Lodge: Disney World's Newest Resort Is Coming 🌲🛶

Okay, friends, can we talk about Disney's Lakeshore Lodge? Because this resort looks like a cozy cabin weekend and a Disney vacation had a baby, and I am HERE for it.

It opens July 1, 2027, and bookings are already open. Here's everything you need to know.

Where Is It?

Lakeshore Lodge sits right on the shore of Bay Lake, just a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom. It's part of the Disney Vacation Club family, but you don't have to be a DVC member to stay here. Anyone can book it.

The Theme: Nature, Through Disney's Eyes

The whole resort celebrates nature the way Disney artists and storytellers see it. Think natural materials, earthy colors, and original artwork from Disney movies set in the great outdoors, like Brother Bear, Bambi, Pocahontas, Encanto, and Fantasia.

It's peaceful, it's beautiful, and it feels like a true escape, while still being minutes from the castle. 🏰

The Rooms (This Is the Fun Part!)

Lakeshore Lodge has 967 rooms, and there's a room type for almost every kind of traveler:

🏡 Lake Houses (inspired by Brother Bear) These are the showstoppers. Freestanding A-frame houses with floor-to-ceiling windows, a private porch on the lake, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. There's even a Northern Lights-style lighting feature in the main bedroom. One-bedroom lake houses sleep up to 5, and two-bedroom lake houses sleep up to 8.

🌿 Resort Studios (inspired by Pocahontas) Earthy tones, carved wood, and Grandmother Willow touches. They sleep up to 4 (Resort Studio Kings sleep 2).

🦌 Deluxe Studios and Villas (inspired by Bambi) Deluxe Studios have a kitchenette and a private balcony and sleep up to 4. One-bedroom villas sleep up to 5 and two-bedroom villas sleep up to 9, with full kitchens, a washer and dryer, and a living and dining area. These are great for families who want room to spread out.

🦋 Duo Studios (inspired by Encanto) Made for couples or solo travelers, with a kitchenette, a split bathroom, and a queen pull-down bed.

🎶 Three-Bedroom Grand Villas (inspired by Fantasia) Built for big family trips with grandparents, cousins, and everyone in between. They sleep up to 12 and have premium water views.

✨ Hidden Willow Presidential Suite The big splurge, with two bedrooms, concierge lounge access, and views of Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

The Pool: The Wetlands 💦

Right past the lobby is The Wetlands, the resort's pool area for all ages. It has:

  • A lazy river

  • A zero-entry pool (so great for little ones!)

  • A spiral water slide

  • A wet and dry play area inspired by the music and story of Pocahontas

Where to Eat

  • Moonglade: A table-service restaurant right on the water

  • Bay Lake Provisions: An all-day marketplace with fresh food, specialty coffee, and "a bit of hidden magic" (I'm SO curious what that means!)

  • Paint Out Point Bar & Grill: Casual poolside dining with original Imagineer artwork

There's also The Artist's Nest, a concierge lounge up above the treetops, for guests staying in select rooms.

Getting Around

You'll have free Disney transportation around Walt Disney World, including boats to Magic Kingdom. As a Disney resort guest, you'll also get the perks that come with staying on property, like Early Theme Park Entry and the 7-day head start on Lightning Lane purchases.

Who Is Lakeshore Lodge Great For?

  • Families who want space. Villas and lake houses with full kitchens and washers make a long trip SO much easier.

  • Big groups and multigenerational trips. The Grand Villas and two-bedroom lake houses were made for this.

  • Magic Kingdom lovers. That boat ride is going to be such an easy, magical way to start a park day.

  • Anyone who loves a cozy, outdoorsy vibe. If you love Wilderness Lodge, I have a feeling you'll love this one too.

Should You Book Now?

Brand-new Disney resorts are always in high demand, especially in the first few months. If you're dreaming of summer or fall 2027, I'd start planning now, while there's still good room availability.

And here's an idea: pair a Lakeshore Lodge stay with a cruise on the new Disney Believe for the ultimate "brand-new Disney" vacation! 🚢🌲

As a licensed Travelmation travel agent who specializes in all things Disney, I'd love to help you pick the right room type for your family and plan the rest of the trip around it. Head to thatkatiefath.com/travel and let's start planning.
