Today's the day, friends! As of 8:00 AM Eastern this morning, Monday, October 19, the Disney Believe is officially open for everyone to book.
If you missed my full rundown last week, the Believe is Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, and it's built around dreams, curiosity, and believing in yourself. Moana in the Grand Hall. A brand-new Encanto show you can only see on this ship. A Frozen family feast at Oaken's Table. Inside Out treats. Cocktails in glasses that change color. Yes, I'm still obsessed.
First, the News: The Maiden Voyage Sold Out
I'm not surprised at all, but the maiden voyage (December 18–23, 2027) sold out during the early booking days for Castaway Club members, before the public could even get in. By October 15, it showed no availability except for some of the higher-end Concierge rooms.
So if you were dreaming of being on the very first sailing... I know. 😭
But here's the good news: the maiden voyage is just ONE of 29 sailings in the inaugural season. There are still lots of chances to get on this ship during her first season, and they're opening to everyone today.
Where You Can Still Sail
The inaugural season runs December 2027 through May 2028 out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, with short cruises that are perfect for families and first-time cruisers:
5-night Western Caribbean: Cozumel, Mexico, and Disney Castaway Cay
5-night Bahamian: Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and Nassau
4-night Bahamian: Nassau and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point
A few special 4-night sailings that visit both of Disney's private islands, including a New Year's sailing from December 27–31, 2027
Some dates I'd keep an eye on:
Holiday sailings in late December. Being on a brand-new ship for Christmas or New Year's? Yes please.
Spring break sailings in March and April 2028, which will fill fast with school families.
January and February sailings, which had some of the lowest starting prices.
What It Costs
When prices were released, the lowest starting fares were (per stateroom for two guests, with taxes, fees, and port expenses included):
Inside: $2,683
Oceanview: $2,987
Verandah: $3,315
Concierge: $6,699
Those were on a 4-night Bahamian sailing in January 2028.
Important: Disney Cruise Line uses dynamic pricing. That means prices go up as rooms book, and after a week of Castaway Club bookings, some sailings may already cost more than they did when prices were first released. The best price is usually the one you lock in sooner, not later.
Why I'd Book Now (Even for 2028)
I know, December 2027 feels SO far away. But here's what I've learned from planning cruises for families:
The best rooms go first. Verandah rooms, connecting rooms for bigger families, and Concierge rooms are always the first to disappear on a new ship.
Prices don't usually go down on a new ship. Booking early often means booking cheaper.
More time means easier payments. You get to pay toward your cruise over time instead of all at once.
You get to look forward to it longer. And honestly? That countdown is half the fun. 🤍
