Talk to Me Thursday — The Super Mom Update I've Been Waiting to Share 🤍
Okay friends, I have been waiting to share this and I am SO excited. We made it to the Top 15 in the Super Mom contest — and now voting is open for the Top 10. I genuinely cannot believe it. When I first told you all about this nomination a few weeks ago, I had no idea the response would be what it was. You showed up. You voted. You cheered. And because of you, we are still in this thing and we are so close.
But before I ask you to vote again, I want to take a second to remind you WHY this actually matters — because it's not about me. It never was.
The Super Mom contest raises money for Children's Miracle Network. And if you don't know what CMN does, let me tell you quickly: Children's Miracle Network supports 170 children's hospitals across North America, funding critical treatments, research, and care for kids who need it most. Kids with cancer. Kids in the NICU. Kids who need surgeries their families couldn't otherwise afford. These are real children, real families, in real crisis — and CMN is there. Every dollar raised through this contest goes directly toward that mission.
That's the why. That's why I said yes to this nomination and that's why I'm asking you to help me get into that Top 10.
Now let me be really honest with you about this week, because Talk to Me Thursday is supposed to be just that — real talk.
This week has been a lot.
Jesse has been out of town for work, which means I've been flying solo at home. Single parenting, even temporarily, is no joke. The juggling act of work and mom life on a normal week is already real — and I work full time, so there is no slow week around here to begin with. This week though? It has been full send. Every. Single. Day.
And on top of that? It's tech week for Lennon's ballet recital.
If you've ever had a kid in dance, you know tech week is its own category of organized chaos. The rehearsals, the costumes, the hair, the bobby pins — SO many bobby pins — the schedule changes, the emotional little dancer who is equal parts excited and exhausted. I am living it right now as I write this to you.
Tomorrow is her first recital day, followed by a second show Saturday. And I know that the second that curtain goes up and I see her out there on that stage, every single thing about this week will have been worth it. Every late night. Every solo bedtime routine. Every moment I ran on cold coffee and sheer determination.
That's just what moms do, right? We hold it all together even when we're barely holding ourselves together. And we show up — for our kids, for our families, for our work — because love is a verb and this is what it looks like in real life.
So if you've been thinking "Katie's life looks so put together on Instagram" — hi, it is tech week, Jesse is gone, I work full time, and I just found a bobby pin in my tennis shoe. We are in it together, friend. 😂
All of that to say — being in this Super Mom contest during a week like this one feels really fitting. Not because I have it all figured out. But because I think the messy, showing-up-anyway kind of love is exactly what this is all about.
This is the Top 10 vote — which means every single vote counts more than ever right now. If you haven't voted yet, will you take thirty seconds and cast your vote? The link is in my bio. It goes toward something that genuinely changes children's lives, and getting into that Top 10 means more visibility for CMN and this cause that I care so much about.
Thank you for being in my corner. Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart. 🤍
xoxo,
Katie
