Summer at Disney World Is Officially Here — And Here's Why You Need to Book Right Now

It is all happening.

Everything that has been announced, teased, counted down to, and dreamed about for months is officially live at Walt Disney World right now. Summer 2026 has arrived — and it is genuinely one of the most exciting times to be at Disney World in recent memory.

If you have been sitting on the fence about a summer trip — consider this your final nudge. Let me tell you exactly what is happening right now and why booking a last-minute summer getaway is absolutely worth it.

Cool Kids' Summer — The Full Picture

Cool Kids' Summer runs May 26 through September 8, 2026, bringing new and refreshed attractions, stage shows, and limited-time entertainment to Walt Disney World — along with special ticket and hotel offers for families.

This is not a marketing slogan. It is a genuine season of experiences designed specifically for families — and it is already fully underway across all four parks. Here is everything live right now:

Soarin' Across America at EPCOT — America's 250th Anniversary

Soarin' Across America takes guests on a breathtaking journey highlighting some of the country's natural beauty and iconic cityscapes — soaring above sweeping coastlines, vibrant cityscapes, and awe-inspiring natural landscapes in honor of America's 250th anniversary.

Walt Disney Imagineering captured more than a dozen breathtaking locations for the new flight — and the experience brings them to life with the iconic elements that make Soarin' unforgettable: the flight, the sights, the score, and even the scents.

If you have never experienced Soarin' — this summer is the time. And if you have experienced the previous version, Soarin' Across America is a completely fresh film worth experiencing again. Disney also created the Soarin' Challenge Across America in collaboration with National Geographic, inviting guests to discover fun facts from beloved National Geographic titles including 50 States, 5,000 Ideas.

This experience is part of the broader Disney Celebrates America initiative honoring the nation's 250th birthday — and it adds a layer of genuine meaning to an already extraordinary attraction.

Bluey's Wild World at Animal Kingdom — What You Need to Know

Bluey and Bingo are officially at Animal Kingdom and if you have young children in your life you already know exactly how significant this is.

Here is the latest update — and this is genuinely good news for families:

Disney has officially transition to a traditional standby queue as of June 2, 2026, ending the virtual queue system that was in place since the experience debuted.

This means guests can simply hop in line and go — no more scrambling for boarding groups in the app. That is a meaningful change that makes this experience significantly more accessible for families visiting from here on out.

If you are visiting June 2nd or later: simply join the standby queue when you arrive. Demand for Bluey remains incredibly strong, so guests should still plan to arrive early — this experience is wildly popular and the line will build throughout the day.

How to get there — this part is important regardless of when you visit:

To visit Bluey's Wild World you need to board the Wildlife Express — a train that takes you to Conservation Station. The train departs from Harambe Station near Africa in the park. Factor this travel time into your day— it is not a quick walk-up experience. Budget time for the train ride both ways when planning your Animal Kingdom schedule.

The standby queue covers the full Conservation Station package — the Wildlife Express Train, Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, Jumping Junction, and the Animal Care experiences. Once you arrive at Conservation Station you will enter a holding room before being admitted into the main experience — which includes interactive games inspired by the show including Keepy Uppy — and the whole family wraps up with a shower of bubbles celebrating with the Heeler sisters. Bluey's Wild World also welcomes wallabies and kangaroos hopping around at the brand new Jumping Junction habitat — real Australian animals as part of the experience.

And the food — because we need to talk about the food:

The Fairy Bread Cake is Vanilla Birthday Cake dipped in White Chocolate with Rainbow Sprinkles and Raspberry Dipping Sauce. The Wackadoo Fruit Freeze is a frozen twist on Bluey's beloved Fruit Salad. And the Bluey Sipper — a super-sized souvenir cup sold with a fountain beverage - is limited to two per person per transaction and available while supplies last.

Bluey’s Berry Lemonade blends frozen Minute Maid Lemonade with blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry and is also available at Eight Spoon Café.

Important note for your planning: the food and beverages are available at counter service locations on Discovery Island — you do not need a virtual queue boarding group or a spot in the standby line to purchase them. So you can grab the Fairy Bread Cake and the Bluey Sipper any time during your park day. Go get the sipper early — it sells out regularly.

Rock n Roller CoasTER STARRING The Muppets at Hollywood Studios

There are five different songs on the attraction, over 45 minutes of new Muppets media in the queue - longer than the Disney+ show — five different pre-shows involving different Muppets calling in, and three different launch sequences involving Animal to kick the ride into high gear.

The replay value on this attraction alone is extraordinary. Every time you ride it you might experience something different. That is not something most Disney attractions can say.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Hollywood studios

For families with little ones — this stage show is designed entirely for them. The beloved animated characters brought to life on stage in an experience that is going to delight every young Disney fan in your family.

The Magic of Disney Animation — Coming Late Summer to Hollywood Studios

This one is still on its way — and it is absolutely worth planning a late summer trip around.

The Magic of Disney Animation is a brand-new collection of animation-inspired experiences opening at Hollywood Studios later this summer, housed in a building inspired by the iconic Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California — complete with Mickey's Sorcerer Hat perched on top. Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning short film "Once Upon a Studio," the collection of experiences invites guests to interact with and explore new takes on the iconic Disney Animation headquarters, including the many different studio departments, with playful and interactive moments around every corner as portraits come to life. Here is what is inside:

The experience has three components: Drawn to Wonderland — a playground-style area for young guests; Off the Page — a character greeting space; and Olaf Draws - a drawing class where guests learn from legendary Disney Animation artists through pre-recorded sessions hosted by Olaf. T

he Magic of Disney Animation also features an art gallery where character portraits come to life, a theater showing "Once Upon a Studio" with new special effects, and a revamped Animation Academy.

The Drawn to Wonderland area brings Alice in Wonderland's bold colors and whimsical artistic style to life — creating a playful space where families can relax, recharge, and remain immersed in Disney storytelling.

And the Olaf Draws experience is the one I am most excited about — it is designed for guests of all ages and has no equivalent experience currently at Walt Disney World. Learning to draw from legendary Disney Animation artists through sessions hosted by Josh Gad as Olaf is the kind of experience you remember long after the trip ends.

No specific opening date has been confirmed yet — but it is expected late Summer 2026. Howver the courtyard area is open so you can walk around outside and see the building. If you are planning a trip for August or early September this could absolutely be open and waiting for you. Which means a late summer Disney trip has just as much magic as an early one — arguably more once the crowds settle after July 4th.

The Deals That Make a Last-Minute Trip Worth It

Here is the part I really need you to hear.

Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel between May 26 and September 8, 2026 can enjoy free admission to one of the Walt Disney World water parks on their check-in day. That is a meaningful perk that adds genuine value to a summer stay.

Summer also offers some of the best ticket prices of the year and longer theme park hours — which means more time in the parks and more value for your dollar.

And if you are a Florida resident or Annual Passholder: Florida residents can save up to 35% and Annual Passholders can save up to 40% on select Disney Resort hotel rooms when staying four nights or more, available for arrivals most nights July 30 through October 3, 2026.

Why book right now

Everything is live. The experiences are open. The deals are running. And summer availability — especially for the most popular resorts and dates around Fourth of July — is moving fast.

A last-minute summer Disney trip is absolutely doable. I plan them for families all the time. The key is having someone who knows the landscape helping you put it together quickly and smartly — so you don't miss the deals, you don't end up in the wrong resort, and you walk into that first park day knowing exactly what you're doing.

That is what I do. And my services are always completely free to you.
