✨ Travel Tip Tuesday: A “Deal” Isn’t Always the Best Value
We’ve all felt it.
You see a bold headline.
A flashy number.
A countdown timer.
✨ DEAL! ✨
And suddenly it feels urgent — like if you don’t grab it right now, you’ll miss out.
But here’s the honest truth I share with clients all the time:
👉 a cheap price and a good fit are not always the same thing.
Sometimes what looks like savings upfront can quietly make the trip harder, longer, or more stressful once you arrive.
Let’s talk about what might be hiding behind that “great price.”
✈️ Flight Times That Hurt More Than Help
Early departures.
Late arrivals.
Long layovers.
Tight connections.
A lower fare can sometimes mean sacrificing comfort or usable vacation time.
If you land exhausted or lose half a day to travel logistics, was it really a win?
💳 Fees That Sneak Up on You
Not every cost shows up in the first number you see.
Depending on the trip, you might encounter:
❌ resort or destination fees
❌ baggage charges
❌ seat selection
❌ airport transfers
❌ parking
Those add up fast.
📍 Locations That Create Extra Work
Saving money on the hotel might mean:
🚗 longer drives
🚌 more complicated transportation
⏰ earlier mornings
😴 tired evenings
Convenience has value — especially for families.
🛏 Room Categories Matter More Than People Think
The least expensive room might come with tradeoffs like:
smaller space
louder surroundings
limited views
inconvenient building locations
After a long day, those details hit differently.
🎉 When the Vibe Doesn’t Match the Trip
This one surprises people the most.
A property can be wonderful — but wrong for your season of life.
Examples:
adults-only when you’re bringing kids
party atmosphere when you want peaceful
super quiet when you’re hoping for lots of activities
None of those are bad.
They just might not be right.
The Real Definition of Value
To me, the best value is the trip that:
✔ fits your dates
✔ respects your budget
✔ supports your comfort level
✔ matches how you like to travel
And still feels GOOD when you walk through the door.
Because no one wants buyer’s remorse on vacation.
Want a Second Set of Eyes?
If you ever find a deal online and wonder,
“Is this actually good?” — send it to me.
I’ll tell you exactly what I would double-check or ask about.
No pressure.
No obligation.
Just helpful guidance from someone who plans trips every day 🤍
