If you're heading to Disney World this month, there's one closure you need to know about before you build your Magic Kingdom day: Tiana's Bayou Adventure is closed.
No panic! It's temporary, and it's coming back before Christmas. But it's a big one, so let's talk about it, plus everything else that's down this month.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Closed Until December
Tiana's Bayou Adventure closed on Monday, November 2 for its first refurbishment since it opened in June 2024. Disney's operating calendar shows it coming back on Friday, December 18, just ahead of the big Christmas rush. Disney hasn't formally announced that date, though, so it could still shift.
The ride's exit gift shop, Tiana's Bayou General, is closed during the refurbishment too.
If Tiana's was on your must-do list, here's how I'd think about it:
Traveling before December 18? Plan your Magic Kingdom day without it, and check the app the week of your trip in case it reopens early (or late).
Traveling after December 18? You should be good to go, and you might get to ride it freshly refurbished. ✨
Using Lightning Lane Multi Pass? Use that spot for another favorite in Frontierland or Adventureland, so you still get the most out of your pass.
Everything Else Closed in November
🎠 Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress (Magic Kingdom) Closed since July for its biggest update in decades, including a new Walt Disney animatronic in the introduction. It's expected back in late spring 2027.
🚂 Walt Disney World Railroad (Magic Kingdom): open, with a shorter route Good news first: the train is back! It reopened October 29 after a monthlong refurbishment. It's running as a shuttle between Main Street, U.S.A. and Fantasyland only. Frontierland Station stays closed while construction continues on Piston Peak and Villains Land.
🌊 Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Closed for its annual refurbishment through November. If a water park day is on your list, Blizzard Beach is the one to plan around.
The Good News
EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom don't have any major ride refurbishments scheduled this month.
Holiday overlays are starting! The Jingle Cruise kicked off November 3, and the holiday versions of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers start today at Hollywood Studios. 🎄
Why Closures Matter When You Book
Refurbishments are part of keeping the parks magical, and they're usually scheduled during slower stretches. But if your family has a must-do ride, a closure can change which days you want, which parks you visit, or even when you book your trip.
This is exactly what I keep an eye on for my clients. I check the refurbishment calendar against your dates, plan your park days around anything that's down, and let you know if something reopens (or closes) before you leave.
